Thüringer Europa Kirmes - Thuringia's Traditional Fair in Brussels

Die Landesregierung des Freistaats Thüringen lädt Sie herzlich zur 1. Thüringer Europa Kirmes in Brüssel ein.

Thüringen und Brüssel verbindet eine besondere Geschichte: bereits im Jahr 1910 präsentierte Thüringen auf der Weltausstellung in Brüssel mit der Schaugruppe „Thüringer Kirmes“ ein eindrucksvolles Zeugnis der Festkultur Thüringens. Thüringen präsentierte sich als traditionsreiche, lebensfrohe und gastfreundliche Kulturlandschaft. Die von Sonneberger Firmen, Schülern der Industrieschule, Modelleuren und Handwerkern geschaffene Schaugruppe wurde dort mit einem Grand Prix ausgezeichnet. Die Auszeichnung mit dem Grand Prix würdigte den Sonneberger Beitrag und unterstrich die besondere Wirkung des Thüringer Auftritts auf internationaler Bühne.

An diese Tradition knüpfen wir heute mit der Thüringer Europa Kirmes an. Wir laden Sie zu einem modernen Netzwerkevent ein, das Menschen, Ideen und Perspektiven aus Thüringen und Europa zusammenbringt. So verbinden wir die Thüringer Kirmes mit aktuellem Austausch, neuen Partnerschaften und einem offenen Blick auf Europa.

The State Government of the Free State of Thuringia cordially invites you to the Thuringian European Fair in Brussels.

Thuringia and Brussels share a special history. As early as 1910, Thuringia presented an impressive showcase of its festive culture at the Brussels World Exhibition with the display entitled “Thuringian Fair”. Thuringia presented itself as a region rich in tradition, full of joie de vivre and renowned for its hospitality. Created by companies from Sonneberg, students of the local School of Industrial Arts, model makers and craftspeople, the display was awarded a Grand Prix. This award recognised the contribution from Sonneberg and highlighted the distinctive impact of Thuringia’s presentation on the international stage.

Today, we are building on this tradition with the Thuringian European Fair – a modern networking event that brings together people, ideas and perspectives from Thuringia and across Europe. In this way, we combine the Thuringian fair tradition with current diaogue, new partnerships and an open outlook on Europe.

ab 18:30 Uhr: Offizielle Eröffnung durch den Ministerpräsidenten und seine Stellvertreter

Traditionelle Thüringer Kirmesdarbietungen und Schaustellerbetriebe u. a. mit Blaskappelle „Ostkrainer aus Menteroda, Trachtentanzgruppe aus Bad Tabarz und der Partyband „Hallo Grand“ aus Mühlhausen.

Freuen Sie sich außerdem auf einen Thüringer Bratwurstwettbewerb mit Bratwürsten aus fünf Thüringer Regionen sowie auf traditionelle Thüringer Kulinarik und Braukunst.

The evening will also feature traditional Thuringian fair performances and fairground attractions, including: the brass band “Ostkrainer aus Menteroda” the traditional dance group from Bad Tabarz the party band “Hallo Grand” from Mühlhausen.

Guests can also look forward to a Thuringian bratwurst competition featuring sausages from five regions of Thuringia, as well as traditional Thuringian cuisine and brewing culture.
